Dental therapists are essential members of our dental teams, helping to ensure that patients receive high-quality care. You contribute significantly to the skill mix of the modern dental practice, making sure that patients are seen efficiently and by the right professional.
We understand the importance of the therapist’s role within practice, and so we have designed a dedicated educational programme to help you consolidate and expand your clinical capabilities in a range of relevant areas.
The nine month programme builds on your existing skills, allowing you to confidently work within full scope of practice for the delivery of exceptional patient care. This programme offers comprehensive training, combining 25 hours of CPD and clinical support, designed to assist you during your first year in general practice.

The opportunity to continue on your career at Clyde Munro once the programme is over
As a dental nurse, you provide chairside assistance, but as a therapist, you’re the one leading the treatment. It’s a big change, but I’ve loved taking on more responsibility. Clyde Munro’s Therapy Support Programme ensures I never feel alone. There’s always someone to turn to if I need guidance.”
Work-life balance has become more important than ever since the pandemic, and Clyde Munro really understands that. The industry has really evolved in recent years, and while it’s a demanding career, it’s also incredibly rewarding.
Keira Matheson
Dental Therapist
Having a therapist within the dental team is highly valuable for both the patients and the dentists. The use of a therapist in practices allows for shorter waiting times for appointments and supports the dentist by providing routine treatments.
Clyde Munro utilise their dental therapists to undertake patient appointments and if needed they can refer the patient on to the appropriate dentist for further treatment via the internal referral system called i-Refer.
